Overall, I like the simplicity of the design. My chickens don't spill any feed out of this feeder but I wasn't too happy with the different hooks. They don't fit my cage at all so I could only use the smaller 4 hooks attached to zip ties. The box only supplies you with 2 zip ties, not 4, so I had to supply my own for the other 2 straps, which wasn't a huge deal but I wish they fit inside my coop slats. I don't have cheap chicken wire slats or large slats as I don't want animals getting into to the coop and these thick hooks will not fit at all.
Surprisingly enough though, once zip tied, it does hold 1/2 container of feed. Any more than that and it will bend my coop slats a bit so I don't want to push it. Half a container of feed will feed my chickens for about 1/2 a week. I like that it's up off the ground, it has 3 dividers, I can change the amount that gets poured in and all I have to do is open the top. That was a huge bonus to me—that's why I bought it. So far, so good. LOVE the rain shield—so far, no wet feed.

Really disappointed in this. Was hoping it would keep chickens from spilling feed and it doesn't. They can peck it out just as easily as with my other feeder. I got the extension, and the one bonus is that together it holds about 4 days worth of feed for my flock of 15. But I know I'm throwing money away with feed ending up on the ground. Will look for a port feeder to eventually replace this.

After researching numerous other feeders and found them lacking (too large, too small, too flimsy, awkward shape/operation) I stumbled across this one. It is exactly what I have been looking for. Add to that, Premier 1's stellar support when my order ran into trouble, and I couldn't be more please. Highly recommend both!

I am so glad I purchased this feeder. I will be ordering another for my rooster's pen soon. I used to carry the feeders up to the pens each morning, couldn't leave feed out at night, due to mice problem. The design is space saving, sanitary and rain proof. Even though we don't get too much rain here in So Cal, it is an issue with feed getting wet when we do. The only thing this feeder needed is a lid to cover the exposed feed at night. That would be a great optional feature for keeping mice out. However, my wonderful husband did fabricate one for each of my two feeders using plexy glass with an added knob to lift off each morning. There are several options for mounting as well. Yes, you can cut a hole in the pen fencing, or there are tiny slits on the feeder itself, also on the mounting brackets for using zip ties. I mounted my feeder inside the run using the short mounting brackets and zip ties. Easy, even for a women who doesn't know much about power tools and such! Chickens are well fed and happy, and me too!

Just what I needed. No feeder getting knocked off the base and spilling. Food stays dry even though we have had what seems like a month straight of rain.
