I attached this to a fence post at our pond to use for the waterfowl and the lid blew off into the pond within 2 days so now we have no lid. The lid needs to be a tighter fit or have something to keep it locked in place.

It holds a good amount of feed but double would be better. There's still quite a lot of waste they get out of the feeder. I like it. It's better than using a flat bucket.

For the price, it does not meet my expectations. The clip on piece that covers the open feeding tray is very flimsy. The ends do not stay in the slots. The screws secure it to the body of the feeder, but the ends do not stay in place. I'm using crumbles, and the feed does not fall down into the tray well. It may be fine with a different type of feed. The lid just sets on the feeder and does not secure very well.

We have 8 chickens and this feeder was easily mounted inside their covered coop/run. The feeder provides several days of feed for the chickens. It has been in use for several weeks and is sturdy. I have not used the extender. Once I properly adjusted the feed gate there was much less feed thrown on the ground.

I feel compelled to warn others about my experience with this product. I originally purchased in order to reduce food waste that I was seeing from a ground-based feeder and this did help slightly in that regard although the chickens still manage to have a good amount of food waste with this feeder. My real issue is the MAJOR design flaw in how the system attaches to a vertical surface. The black plastic clamps shown in the stock photos attach to the feeder via 4 very flimsy plastic tabs. About 15 minutes after I installed an extension to the feeder I revisited the coop to find the whole unit had fallen throwing the entirety of the freshly filled feed all over the ground. It is laughable (and frustrating) to think that the engineer that designed this thought those 4 small clips would be sufficient to hold 20-30lbs of feed. Maybe I am alone in this experience but this product is not worth the money in consideration of this issue alone. The clips shouldn't even exist because it is not practical to move the feeder for refill, instead it makes sense to use a bucket to fill the feeder; in consideration of this those clips should be semi-permanent or at least much more sturdy. Unfortunately very disappointed with this product. I wish there was a way to upload photos so that I could better show this issue...
