This waterer worked great for the first year. I had it outside for my chickens and turkeys. Now the sun cracked the lid and it is useless. I do not want a chicken to fly inside the waterer and drown. For the money, the lid should not have been affected by the sun so fast. Do not waste your money on this waterer, stay with a metal one that lasts and lasts.
Update May 5, 2022 — Customer service emailed me that the waterer was 3 years old, and that the lid shouldn’t have cracked. They sent me a new lid, except the new lid did not come with the hook or the cap, for lack a better word. This was the area that broke out on the old lid and was thrown away. I love the waterer. Customer service is great. I give them 5 stars.

This is a great product once you work out the quirks. It worked great for the first month. But then I would find all the water drained all over the ground. I took the thing apart 3 times and was about to give up on it, and I saw the problem. The float comes in 2 pieces and it does not seal all the way, over time water collects in it, making it not able to float up to the blue stop.
The fix: I made sure this fixed the issue for over a month before I posted it. But the fix is so simple. Just get yourself some silicone caulking and seal the float where it attaches together. Let it dry for a few hours, place it back in its place, and your water will stay in container as per the design.
It is a wonderful product, might need to start sending a little pack of silicone with each product sent out, and you reviews will pick up.

I bought a pair (feeder and waterer) to try. I liked them so much I bought more. Durable, easy to set up and clean. Great instructions and even included extra piece.

Very picky on how you have to set them so they don’t spill water out everywhere. First time filling it emptied into the bird room. Not ideal to have soggy ground in the bird room.
I got these for ease of cleaning as you just lift the lid but after putting it together I’m not sure how you would be able to clean the float valve assembly as it has to be pushed into place very firmly.
Won’t purchase these again.

Have used these waterers for several years. They work great. They require monthly (approximately) maintenance and even that is easy, just take apart and clean and reassemble.
