Double Insulated Wire: DCPIW34
If you intend to build permanent electric fences, you're going to need double insulated wire.
All of it looks the same to the less experienced user. But the differences are in the details—gauge, tensile strength, insulation thickness and single coat of insulation vs. double coat.
If you intend to use for temporary or semi-permanent fences, look to MaxiShock Insulated Cable.

Great wire, well insulated.

We use this to go underground and up and down the gate posts where we use standard metal gates. Some of ours has been installed for over 10 years and still functioning perfectly.

Heavy duty! The only problem is you can't mow over it with a tractor without PVC of burying.
Carvel C from NC- Eastern Piedmont region
Great product. The only problem experienced is underground blowout apparently from lightning strikes. I am now putting it in PVC pipe buried shallowly where machinery will cross, and just laid out on the ground where only animals cross. No problems since in any of the 20+ uses.

Have used this for years, burry mostly in pvc conduit just to be sure but in a few places it was direct buried. Have never had a problem or short.
