ElectroFence® Plus 11/48/12 Electric Netting
Product Details
Effective at keeping in: sheep, goats, guard dogs and cattle while keeping out deer, coyotes and bear.
For fences that involve curves, corners and directional change, or when aesthetics are a concern, “Plus” nets include additional line posts to reduce sag. Line posts are spaced every 6'8" (vs. 12.5' for standard 48" ElectroFence).
What makes ElectroFence different from PermaNet?
- Strutted verticals every 12" vs PermaNet's string every 6".
- Has 10 energized strands vs 9 for PermaNet.
- Lowest energized strand 4" above the soil (vs 6" for PermaNet).
New to electric fence? Premier’s Starter Kits may be a good choice. They include netting, extra support posts, a solar fence energizer, ground stake and a digital tester.
Which ElectroFence® is right for you?
We offer many fences to fit your situation, including multiple lengths with different post spacings, drivable line posts and positive/negative options for dry soils. Visit this link to compare all ElectroFence options.Common Uses
For small breeds such as Pygmy or Nigerian Dwarf goats use PoultryNet style netting. The tighter spacings are a better deterrent to these species than the wider spaced ElectroFence.

Benefits
Installation
Note: Weeds must be controlled for ElectroFence to remain effective. Either move and mow as needed during the growing season, or spray herbicide (see photos above) along the bottom strand of the net. If you can’t do this, ElectroFence may not be the right net for you.
See PDFs and videos above for additional installation instructions.
Precautions
Warning! Due to risk of fire, do NOT use continuous output energizers with electric netting or electro-plastic conductors such as rope, twine or tape. Use only with a low or wide impedance intermittent pulse energizer. (Fi-Shock™ brand energizers which are sold as low impedance, continuous current output should NOT be used with electric netting.) All energizers sold on Premier’s website use an intermittent pulse and are suitable for use with electric netting.
Dry conditions and wintertime usage may reduce the effectiveness of electric fencing. Ice and heavy snow can flatten netting and thereby damage it.
Dry or frozen ground may cause post spikes to bend or break if inserted with force. Pilot holes may be needed. We recommend using drivable or single spike posts in hard soils. Double spike posts provide more stability when the ground is soft.

I studied the comparison chart & instructions online for days before deciding what to get. I've had electro netting of some kind in the past for chickens. I decided to pay for big and am very pleased we did.
We purchased 2-100 ft rolls of ElectroFence Plus for a herd of 12 adult and 12 baby Toggenburgs & Oberhaslis. Awesome quality, love that it doesn't sag, aesthetics were important to us. Can be moved by one person, but having another, like my 10 yr old child along makes it easier. She picks up the posts, and I carry the whole armful of posts in front of me to the next piece of pasture, then I hand them one by one back to her.
I would recommend and will be purchasing the ElectroFence gate to go with this to make in-out and checking water supply easier throughout the day, without the need to run back&forth turning fence line off&on.
To get the herd out there we use a single strand polywire lane. One side of the lane brings the power out to the ElectroFence. We do lead and drive the goats in the lane so they don't have opportunity to mess with the fence too much on their way out. I think the key to goats is a strong fencer and good training, (and maybe we have easier-going breeds). For training we fenced an electric line inside their permanent non-electric wire mesh yard one day, divided the yard in half with two strand fence the next day, then started using a two strand wire fence for a lane for milking chores. A couple got out the first time of training, but they are the lead goats now. They see the fence line and are very aware of it.
We have a 1 joule low impedance fencer that packs a good shock, registering 3000V at the on/off switch we start at, and most days 1000-2000V on the ElectroFence, depending on how high the grass is. Enticement with food helps too to get them quickly through the lane. They are hungry for the grass in the morning & appreciate their grain in the evening when returning to their permanent non-electric yard.
We are grazing part of the lawn and all the ditches around the property. Have no hay left in this area because of last year's dry weather, and not a good outlook for hay crop in the area again with so much moisture this spring, farmers haven't been able to replant the dried up hayfields yet. The savings on the hay through this summer will pay this year alone for the fencing. Glad we are doing it! Thank you Premier for a great product!

I actually use this fence for my dog kennel. I move it out into the shade of the woods in the summer and up next to the house for the winter. Keeps my Husky and Malamute contained better than any physical fence, they completely respect the electricity. I will never go back to conventional fencing.

This has been a great product. I have used it all summer and like the fact that there is little to no sag in the fence even on uneven terrain here in Western North Carolina.
Gary D from North Carilina
Have used this fence all summers with no issues. It does not sag and is easy to set up even on unlevel ground.

Super easy to install. Though it’s only been up for a few weeks, it’s working as intended. Materials seem to be sturdy. Goats trained to the fence quickly and without any problems. They’re now enjoying their new pasture.
