ElectroStop® with PrimaPosts™ (Standard & Pro) 10/42/12
New! Portable electric fence with 10 horizontal strands (9 conductive), is 42" tall installed and has vertical struts every 12". PrimaPosts™ are built into the mesh every 12.6 ft. Choose from twisted or braided conductors.
When properly energized, ElectroStop® with PrimaPosts™ is a nearly impenetrable mesh to domestic livestock and their predators.
Why PrimaPosts?
- Stiffer—advanced fiberglass composite for increased strength and rigidity
- Weighs less per ft—posts are smaller in diameter vs. PVC posts of similar stiffness (13mm vs. 19mm); this enables longer sections (164' vs. 100') without additional weight—an advantage for folks who move netting often
Benefits
Standard vs. Pro—What’s the difference?
“Pro” conductors are braided (vs. twisted) to expose more of the fine metal filaments on the outside of the strand. This is important because it increases the likelihood of an animal coming in direct contact when they touch or rub against the electrified strand, ensuring a painful shock.Unlike twisted conductors, the braiding process creates a tighter weave that resists fraying. When sections are carried or pulled through tall, stemmy grass, the strands don’t catch as readily.
Its very low electrical resistance (37 ohms per 1000') is important for fences that are either long or will experience high weed contact.
ElectroStop® with PrimaPosts™ is available in (2) colors:
- Green & White — Items #208450, #208457
- Blends well with a green-grass background while offering good visibility to humans and animals.
- Blue & White — Items #208453, #208456
- 4-legged animals generally have poor color vision, but see shades of blue clearly. Because blue is an unusual color when seen on the ground, curious livestock (and their predators) check the fence with their sensitive noses. The result is a memorable electric shock. Animals conclude the fence itself is painful—and learn to avoid it.
Common Uses
- Contain sheep, goats, cattle and guard dogs while keeping out stray dogs and coyotes
- Effective for beehive protection to keep out livestock and bears
- Make small pastures for animals that need special attention (ewes/does/nannies with triplets; injured or stressed animals)
- Strip grazing pastures, orchards, vineyards and stockpiled forages
- Wildfire mitigation (managed grazing)
- As an interim fence until a more permanent fence can be built
- Installing water gaps
- Making lanes for moving animals
- Protecting outdoor hay and silage bales

Installation
Ensure the net is at least 2" away from anything metal (e.g. T-posts, existing wire fences, spikes on support posts, etc.)
See PDFs and videos above for additional installation instructions.
Precautions
Netting must be moved when tall grass covers the lower “hot” strands. The alternative? Apply a strip of herbicide to kill vegetation.
Warning! Due to risk of fire, do NOT use continuous output energizers with electric netting or electro-plastic conductors such as rope, twine or tape. Use only with a low or wide impedance intermittent pulse energizer. (Fi-Shock™ brand energizers which are sold as low impedance, continuous current output should NOT be used with electric netting.) All energizers sold on Premier’s website use an intermittent pulse and are suitable for use with electric netting.
Dry conditions and wintertime usage may reduce the effectiveness of electric fencing. Ice and heavy snow can flatten netting and thereby damage it.
Dry or frozen ground may cause posts to bend or break if inserted with force. Pilot holes may be needed when using PrimaPosts™ in hard soil. We recommend using drivable or single spike posts in hard soils. Double spike posts provide more stability when the ground is soft.
Troubleshooting
If possible, separate the fence into sections. Then progressively reconnect, checking voltage as you go. When the voltage drops, you’ve identified the section with the problem. Listen for snapping sounds. This occurs when a conductor is close to a grounded wire, metal objects, fallen branches, or other green vegetation causing a “short”. Shorts cause fence voltage to collapse and allow animals to touch the fence without feeling pain.

I’m giving this fence four stars because I wish I could get the step in posts with it, BUT the fence is great!
It IS a bit more wrangling having the posts so far apart, but I am able to manage it myself and move animals weekly using this fence. I LOVE this length of fence. I use two sets and create a large pasture that lasts my sheep about a week. I’ve had no issues with predators and some of our soil is rocky, but I’m able to shift the fence and get the posts in with little issue.
I definitely recommend for any beginning farmer who lacks permanent fencing on their farm. We have NONE, so I have several of these which enable me to keep my sheep safe and rotate them around our pastures as often as I want.

I’ve been using my leftover poultry netting for my sheep, but since I’m getting out of poultry I decided to try this type made especially for sheep/goats. It is so much better! After setting up one roll I was hooked.
The bottom conductive wire is about 6 inches off the ground—nice clearance! Plastic struts between posts give the fence excellent support and keeps the whole fence very tidy. I bought the 164 ft roll, and it is about half the weight of the 164 ft poultry net that has double spikes and stands about 48 inches tall.
As soon as I can, I plan to buy more of these and get rid of my poultry nets. I make paddocks that are about 2–3 acres and move my sheep twice a week. The netting kept my sheep and chickens safe from ground predators (we have A LOT) for about 5 months before I moved my dogs in (at the same time as the chickens went out). The key was to mow the path of the netting and to get a charge of at least 5k volts. I often got 6–9k with a Speedrite 3000 on about 800 feet of netting. Now that the dogs are in I accept 2–4k volts, just enough to make sheep or dogs uncomfortable about touching it.

We use two lengths of ElectroStop for rotational grazing our sheep. I move them every 5–7 days and it’s definitely fine as a one person job. I really wish we could get step-in posts at this length, but it’s fine. This fencing is amazing for the job of keeping our sheep safe. I heard coyotes LOUDLY a few days ago but none of my sheep seemed stressed and the fence looked fine in the mornings. I trust Premier 1 with our farm, no question. I’m buying two more of these in January-ish to get ready for Spring.

Excellent product! Keeps our goats in and predators out. Very easy to set up and highly visible. Will buy again.

Real review from real experience: Don’t listen to the 0 stars. This fence right here is the absolute best. I’ve tried them all, this one is the lightest, longest, sturdiest, easiest to work with and comes in a perfect height. Not to mention, durable and easily repairable. I had a couple deer barrel through, posts got damaged but the net had no damage. I ordered some spares and made an easy replacement, good as new.
All of Premier’s ElectroNet fences are functional, but once you’ve tried them all, this one will be the only one you go with because of how much EASIER it is to work with. This is the future of ElectroNet fencing, don’t even listen to the 0 stars. I bought this fence when it was brand new and there were no reviews. I’m not typically a review guy, but this product deserves it.
