PermaNet® 10/48/6 Electric Netting
Product Details

Use PermaNet® for sites that have installation problems for permanent wire fences (hills, rocks, curves, trees, no machine access). It keeps sheep and goats in and predators out. Can stop a wide range of animals.
How does it compare to our temporary nets (ElectroNet® and ElectroStop®, etc?)
- It’s taller, 48"—therefore more reliable.
- Designed to be left in one place for months or years. For this it has stronger, heavier, larger PVC posts with longer, thicker, steel spikes. The result is better support through wind, rain, ice and snow.
- It’s a very good conductor (low electrical resistance). This is critical as weed contact may become heavy.
- Supplied in many lengths—to enable users to buy the right length for each situation.
Benefits
Common Uses

* Pos/Neg (PN) fences are recommended where the soil is very dry and/or the animals do not ground well. Two clips are used at each end. One is hooked to the energizer, the second should be connected to a ground rod.
Installation
Tip: When using Pos/Neg fencing, a PowerLink (see Accessories) is recommended to attach the negative lead to the ground rod.
See PDFs and videos above for additional installation instructions.
Common Questions
- Will PermaNet® 10/48/6 contain poultry?
- No. Because of the 6" wide spacings, this PermaNet® will NOT contain chickens. For chickens, we recommend 42" or 48" tall electric netting with 3" wide spacings.
- How easy is PermaNet® to install?
- We suggest installing PermaNet® with two people. Why? Because of its extra weight and longer posts.
It can be handled, installed and removed by one person, but having another person on each end of the posts doubles the productivity and makes it easier for both.
Pushing or stepping posts into the soil is still a one-person task. And so is pulling the posts out of the soil. But these tasks take more effort because the spikes are both larger and longer. (After all, it doesn’t work to have a strong, well-supported post without large and long spikes.)
Precautions
Netting must be moved when tall grass covers the lower “hot” strands. The alternative? Apply a strip of herbicide to kill vegetation.
Warning! Due to risk of fire, do NOT use continuous output energizers with electric netting or electro-plastic conductors such as rope, twine or tape. Use only with a low or wide impedance intermittent pulse energizer. (Fi-Shock™ brand energizers which are sold as low impedance, continuous current output should NOT be used with electric netting.) All energizers sold on Premier’s website use an intermittent pulse and are suitable for use with electric netting.
Dry conditions and wintertime usage may reduce the effectiveness of electric fencing. Ice and heavy snow can flatten netting and thereby damage it.
Dry or frozen ground may cause posts to bend or break if inserted with force. Pilot holes may be needed. We recommend using drivable or single spike posts in hard soils. Double spike posts provide more stability when the ground is soft.
Troubleshooting
If possible, separate the fence into sections. Then progressively reconnect, checking voltage as you go. When the voltage drops, you’ve identified the section with the problem. Listen for snapping sounds. This occurs when a conductor is close to a grounded wire, metal objects, fallen branches, or other green vegetation causing a “short”. Shorts cause fence voltage to collapse and allow animals to touch the fence without feeling pain.

We love this fence! Our farm has limited permanent pastures and we have been using Premier1 PermaNet for the past 3 years rotating our sheep and goats around the back fields. I find the 100' sections to be easy to handle by myself and move around. We use the single spike for ease of installation here in Ohio when the ground is frozen or dry you can pound them in. We recently purchased more sheep and they came with a competitors electric netting which we got rid of that asap! Premier is much higher quality everything from the netting to the posts and the spacing. We've had numerous people stop by inquiring about our fence. Great customer service and fast shipping can't sing their praises enough. Love this company and their products!

Works great but really need to be diligent about keeping weeds and grass under and close to the netting controlled. No problem at all setting up. It would be nice to have a longer spike on the post and also more distance between the top of the spike and bottom of the net so it would be easier to control the grass and weeds under the netting if one used a trimmer rather than spraying.

Best product that was invented. So easy to put up. Goats touched one time and not more. I recommend this to anyone wanting to keep small animals in a safe place. Thanks Premier for great products.

Great product. Running the Pos/Neg paired with a Kube 4000 and it does a fantastic job of keeping dogs in my yard and free ranging cattle out of my orchard. My lead LGD girl feels more relaxed and is spending more time in the house and there has been less warning barking at night too.

It was like Christmas morning when I went out to the garage and opened my order you folks sent via UPS. I took the fence and unrolled it to put around my garden. Wow! That was easy! No raccoons are getting my sweet corn this year!
Then I took it down just to see how easy and fast I could do it. I decided to put it to the ultimate test instead: my 10 just weaned 35 lb lambs. Ok, I can hear you all holding your breath! But it turned out ok. I fenced right next to the barn and kept the entrance open just incase they spooked, so they could run back to the barn. I also did not hook up the charger, as they have never been around “hot” fence, yet. When I opened the gate and turned them out, staying with them just incase, it was like pure joy. Their little hooves hit the grass and their heads went down. They were so happy to have fresh grass! I stayed around the barn just to keep an eye on them. After about an hour I could see their bellies were getting full and they wanted to taste the fence, this was my cue it was time to return to the barn. Later in the day, I opened the fence again but this time turned the charger on. They were more relaxed until they decided to taste the fence again. Woo! Of course, they ALL had to try it, a few even twice but here wasn’t any wrecks, they just jumped back into herding formation and kept right on eating. The FiberTuff posts are a must for the corners, even after a heavy rain they helped keep the fence from sagging. Thank you for such great products and I am looking forward to placing another order soon, as I have a chicken tractor project in the works. Also, thank you for the fast shipping. The box was a little buggered up on one end but it was all intact and no damage.
Thanks again, bless y’all!
