PoultryNet® and PoultryNet® Plus 12/48/3 Kits
We've simplified the process and taken the "guess" work out by offering kits to complete your poultry fence system. You will need a PoultryNet kit and an Energizer kit (see accessories below).
The net is a 48" electrifiable prefabricated fence. It arrives at your door as a complete roll with the posts already built into the mesh/fence.
White vertical plastic strings are "welded" to black and white electro-plastic horizontal strings. They are supported by 1/2" diameter white plastic PVC posts--which are spaced throughout the netting. Each post has a small, steel spike that is to be inserted into the ground for support.
- 1-100 ft roll or 1-164 ft. roll of 48" PoultryNet. Choose either single spike (SS) or double spike (DS) netting, see below.
- 4 - Additional posts for corner and end support.
- 12 horizontals (11 electrified).
- Horizontals are white and black.
- Horizontal spacings from bottom are 2", 2", 2", 2", 4", 4", 4", 6", 6", 8", 8"
- Verticals are white plastic strings placed every 3".
- Posts are 48" tall and 0.6" wide PVC with a metal spike that goes into the ground.
- Posts are available with either a single spike (SS) or a double spike (DS).
- Spikes are 6" long and .026" diameter.
- 10 ft between posts, built-in. PoultryNet Plus has 6.8 ft between posts, which means less sagging between posts.
- Comes in 100' or 164' lengths.
- 35 Ohms of resistance per 1000 ft.
- Comes with 1 repair kit and 1 warning sign.
- Easy to move if needed.
- Secure for a wide range of animals.
- Visible for animals against all back grounds.
- End posts act as built in gates.
- Double spike posts are more stable in soft soils.
Remember...netting must always be properly electrified!
Note: Not effective with baby chicks that are small enough to crawl through the net openings and therefore are not deterred by the electric shock.
This is a pain barrier, not a physical barrier. If animals are scared or starved it will not keep them in. The first time you put the animals in the net, you should be available to watch them for a while. That way if one were to get into the fence and get caught, you can turn the power off and get them loose.
Use only with a low or wide impedance intermittent pulse energizer. Warning! Do NOT use continuous output energizers with electric netting due to risk of fire. (Fi-Shock™ brand energizers which are sold as low impedance, continuous current output should NOT be used with electric netting.) All energizers sold on Premier's website use an intermittent pulse and are suitable for use with electric netting.
Dry conditions and wintertime usage may reduce the effectiveness of electric fencing.
Dry or frozen ground many cause the NetPost spikes to bend or break if inserted with force. Pilot holes may be needed.
On PoultryNets, the bottom hot wire can slip off of the plastic portion of the end posts down onto the metal spikes. This will cause a dead short and no energy will be on the fence. Unhook the energizer and slide the hot wire back onto the post. Hook energizer back to the net and test.

I really like this fence but my chickens and 2 rabbits just love it. It's so nice being able to let them out of the run and not have to worry about the dog bothering them. Fence is a bit saggy. Could use a few extra poles, especially if your ground isn't perfectly level. The shipping was sooooo fast. Ordered it one day and it was here the next with no additional shipping fee.

Debated for several weeks if this would be worth the price to contain five ducks. After I bought, I found it definitely is!! Didn't purchase the Energizer Kit since ducks are put up at night. It was extremely easy to put up. Also, think it will be easy to move around to provide additional grass. Best investment I've made lately!

Easy set up, easy move-ability. Very happy with my purchase. Will be ordering another to expand area.

The first day I put this up by myself. I'm a pretty strong woman, but still it really is easier with two people. It was a bit saggy, but it was good enough to let a few of the girls try it out. They really enjoyed helping themselves to fresh greens. I thought I was going to need to buy more additional support posts, but really I just needed an extra pair of hands to help me install the fencing correctly.
I did run the lawn mower around to clear the area where the fence would be first. It is really helpful to watch the video and then put it up with two people, unless you're a stronger person than I am.. The second day my husband helped and then we added bird netting on top. I don't want to clip any of the girl's wings. Also, I didn't want anything to be able to fly or drop in.
I'm going to keep the fence in the same location for about 6 weeks giving the girls time to scratch, eat, and fertilize the area for planting.
Buying the "kit" was the easiest way for me. I bought the 164 ft, but for my use the 100 ft really would have been enough (I should have listened to my husband on that one), but we each have different needs.
I would recommend this product. It really is working out well. I was weighing the pros and cons regarding purchasing this, or building a chicken tractor or. just letting the girls completely free range.... I decided with the time and money I would spend to build something and then have to deal with the fact that our ground isn't level so a chicken tractor could have gaps, and be heavier than this fence. I'm happy with the purchase, and would do it again. The girls are happy, too! I also purchased the intellShock PRS I-25.

We have a couple of these and they are easy to use and relatively easy to move.
