PoultryNet® and PoultryNet® Plus 12/48/3 Kits
Use this netting kit to contain and control flighty birds while protecting them from unwanted predators. 48" tall.
You will need a fence energizer (see accessories tab) to electrify the net.
Recommended for active, flighty birds (e.g. Leghorns and Buttercups) and protection from large predators such as coyotes and dogs. For heavy, non-flying breeds, look to 42" PoultryNet kits, which is shorter and easier to handle.
Netting kit includes:
No extra gates needed. Just turn off the energizer and pull the first post to create an opening. For added convenience, a PoultryNet® Gate can be used to provide easy access without the need to turn the energizer off.
PoultryNet “Plus” is identical to standard 48" PoultryNet, but to help with sagging, we’ve added more posts to shorten the distance between them (6'8" vs. 10'). More posts means less sag and a more versatile fence which adapts easily to curves and hills.
Double spike posts are more stable in soft soils.
- Contain and control the movement of chickens, ducks and other poultry on a daily or weekly basis.
- Rotate poultry to fresh grass as a food source and to reduce disease risks.
- Keep small flocks in the backyard. When managed well, chickens are an indispensable garden tool—turning pesky insects and weeds into rich compost.
- Keeps out deer, bear, raccoons, rabbits, foxes, coyotes, stray dogs and skunks.
- Can be used to contain and control livestock other than poultry, such as sheep, goats, cattle and guard dogs.
Netting kit includes:
- 100 or 164 ft roll of 48" PoultryNet or PoultryNet Plus single spike or double spike electric netting.
- 4 48" FiberTuff™ support posts.
PoultryNet 12/48/3 is a 48" electrifiable prefabricated fence. It arrives at your door as a complete roll with the single spike or double spike posts already built into the mesh/fence. Features 12 horizontals strands (11 conductive) with vertical strings placed every 3". “Plus” nets include additional line posts spaced every 6'8" to reduce sag. Add more rolls for a larger enclosure.
FiberTuff™ Posts provide additional support around curves, corners and other major directional changes. Use at end posts to help maintain tension on the fence.
See PDFs and videos above for additional installation instructions.
Electric fence is a pain barrier, not a physical barrier. A common mistake is not electrifying it. Animals may escape or become entangled (and may die). On a % basis, entanglement is very rare, but it can and does occur. If animals are scared or starved it will not keep them in. The first time you put the animals in the net, you should be available to watch them for a while. That way if one were to get into the fence and get caught, you can turn the power off and get them loose.
Netting must be moved when tall grass covers the lower “hot” strands. The alternative? Apply a strip of herbicide to kill vegetation.
Warning! Due to risk of fire, do NOT use continuous output energizers with electric netting or electro-plastic conductors such as rope, twine or tape. Use only with a low or wide impedance intermittent pulse energizer. (Fi-Shock™ brand energizers which are sold as low impedance, continuous current output should NOT be used with electric netting.) All energizers sold on Premier’s website use an intermittent pulse and are suitable for use with electric netting.
Dry conditions and wintertime usage may reduce the effectiveness of electric fencing. Ice and heavy snow can flatten netting and thereby damage it.
Dry or frozen ground may cause post spikes to bend or break if inserted with force. Pilot holes may be needed. We recommend using drivable or single spike posts in hard soils. Double spike posts provide more stability when the ground is soft.
With PoultryNet, the bottom hot wire can slip off of the plastic portion of the end posts onto the metal spikes. This will cause a dead short and no energy will be on the fence. Unhook the energizer and slide the hot wire back onto the post. Reconnect the energizer to the net and test.

I have been using this netting for over a week and I am well satisfied with it
I am glad I got the PoultryNet Plus with double spike posts, for better stand ability in muddy or windy conditions. Overall it seems to be a good product

Seems to be working pretty well just hope that it is 30 and lasts a while for what I had to pay for it :-)

This fencing is frustrating to use if you have uneven terrain, rocky/clay soil, or fast growing vegetation. Falls down or sags every time it rains and requires numerous additional support posts to keep it off the ground.
I have the 100' [“Plus”] green fence with the double spike posts and it's great. This version is terrible and is made for flat ground and perfect conditions unless you use t-posts to keep it from falling over. Then it's not easily movable which defeats the purpose of buying this type of fencing. I wish I could exchange this fence for another green one.
Drains a 10 mile south-facing solar charger overnight because you can't keep it off the ground. :(

We’ve used conventional electric and polywire in the past, but we wanted to move some layers around. The representative helped us find what we needed to contain everything- we have chickens, goats, and hogs. The poultry netting is awesome and I highly recommend it. I’m confident in it enough that I’m considering buying another roll to use right up next to my garden with the goats!
