Tips
Use Ceramic Nest Eggs to encourage hens to lay in a specific area and Wooden Nest Eggs to discourage egg eating.
Roll-out trays are designed for the ChickBox Nesting Box, which have an internal ridge that lifts the rear of the tray to guide the eggs outward. If using your own nesting box, prop up the back of the tray to facilitate rolling.

I read a few reviews about the chickens being able to see the eggs and still peck them. I spray painted the bottom of the clear cover so the hens cannot see the eggs. Took them a few days to get used to laying in the tray but now they are regulars.

It started with 1 chicken eating eggs. Soon she taught a bunch of them to eat them leaving me with only a few eggs left each day and a huge mess! I wasn't sure they would use them but they did right from day one and I haven't lost a single egg since! They fit well with my current boxes, I did ramp shavings up in the back corner of the current boxes before placing them in to make a wedge and encourage the eggs to roll down hill.

These inserts are a great idea, however, I wished they worked better in traditional wooden nesting boxes. These fit but are raised slightly out of the wooden box not allowing too much headroom for the hens to get comfortable. I was able to shimmy these into the wooden nesting boxes that came with my coop but I did have to add some small thin wooden supports underneath to secure it in place so the hens weight didn't shift it up so the eggs rolled back to where they could get them and eat them.
Overall, a reasonably priced item to curtail hens from eating eggs if you don't mind jimmy rigging it to fit traditional wooden nesting boxes to keep the eggs rolling in the right direction away from the hens.
