I was hoping this egg would discourage my 1 or 2 hens that peck; and then eat, freshly layed eggs, and it did! I have only seen a simple light tap on the eggs since!

I didn’t know how the hens will know where to lay eggs, so I heard about using fake eggs and went ahead and purchased. Since then these fake eggs were missing in the nesting boxes — I assume the hens were kicking them off because I found a few.
They work. Hens are laying. Now I did see a hen pecking into one. I’m glad it was a fake one and not a real one, or we will be having problems. So I’m glad I purchased them.

I love training eggs because even as a new chicken owner, my very first egg was in the box. The ceramic ones look too real so even with a marking on them they end up inside then I have to bring them back out. These are real enough for the chickens and fake enough for me. Also my dog is a jerk so when she steals one, I just have to retrieve it. I don’t worry about her breaking it.

These eggs are smooth and look almost like the real thing. Since using them, my chickens have started to lay more often in their boxes, rather than all over the coop. I wish I would have bought one for each box!
