Tips
Use Ceramic Nest Eggs to encourage hens to lay in a specific area and Wooden Nest Eggs to discourage egg eating.
Roll-out trays are designed for the ChickBox Nesting Box, which have an internal ridge that lifts the rear of the tray to guide the eggs outward. If using your own nesting box, prop up the back of the tray to facilitate rolling.

Simply put, do not waste your money on these trays. I purchased the roll out egg trays to help protect and keep eggs clean in between collections. I could not be more disappointed in the performance. Our eggs are far dirtier than when when we used egg mats, and we have a 10% higher rate of breakage. These “roll out” trays simply don’t work as advertised. I would advise steering clear of them and saving your money. I wish I could attach photos of how disgusting our eggs are coming out of these trays.

So far this is not working. My hens won’t use the nest boxes. If I spend more money and invest in fake decoy eggs how will the hens see them if they won’t go near the nests? I’ve added bedding, tried everything customer support has suggested. Coming up empty.

I LOVE these! I have 7 hens and 1 or 2 were eating eggs. Production was down to 2 per day. The remaining eggs in the nesting boxes were always gunked up with yolk and debris. I had tried everything I read about online to stop them with no luck. As soon as I put in these boxes (propped up in the back as other reviewers have noted), several started using them. This morning I had 5 nice clean eggs but noticed that another egg had been eaten; the shell was in the tray. So I attached Velcro this afternoon to stop that last recalcitrant hen. Excellent investment!

Most of our eggs roll down well, but we have 1 overachiever bird that lays eggs too big and they won't roll into compartment. It works well for most of the eggs and the girls don't seem to mind the change in nesting box with it in there.

These boxes are working great! We needed to make some revisions to the trays for sizing (the nesting boxes inside the chicken house measure 12 x 10). We actually put a brick in each nesting box so the trays would tilt forward. They fit like a glove! Now the eggs are protected from the culprits who were eating them!
