X-Tuff Single Sided Hay Feeder
Product Details
This very strong X-Tuff Feeder stands up to abuse from big sheep, horned goats and years of hard use. Everyone is impressed when they see these.
- Heavy enough to keep your large ewes from knocking it down like similar plastic feeders.
- Small openings (2-1/2" x 4-1/2") prevent sheep and goats from pulling out more than they can chew.
- Holes on bottom of hay feeder allow lambs/kids to eat.

Extremely well built and heavy duty. Holds a standard size flake of hay perfectly. Only downside is that hay falls out and the animals end up eating off the ground.

We have been having problems with hay holders for our goats (2) and sheep (1). I first bought the net bags from a local store, which were horribly hard to fill and my sheep and goats were getting tangled in them. Secondly, we tried the Slow Feed Hay bags (also purchased locally). They seemed to work fine, but rats tore them apart before we had been using them for 2 months.
I came across X-Tuff Single Sided Hay Feeders and bought 2. The goats and sheep have not emptied the first load of hay yet, there is plenty of access, the hay is not all pulled out and on the floor, the feeder is strong, nothing to tangle and easy to attach to almost anything (our sheep and goats use converted dog kennels with chain link).
I will be buying more items from Premier 1 based on this experience!

Not to disparage any other products that Premier 1 sells as I have bought a lot of them. Multiple orders of most. These feeders IMO are the highest quality product Premier sells. My son game me a few a few years ago and another this year. You can’t tell the difference between the brand new one and the 3 year old feeders. I’ve tried other brands of hay feeders that are so bent up after that time you can’t fit a slab of hay in them anymore unless you straighten each rod. If something did bend a rod on one of these, I would have a heck of a time straightening it back out.
