I have two of the heated nipple water buckets. They work well. But in the summer it can get VERY hot and my chickens could not seem to pound enough water from the buckets. They spent a lot of time pushing and pounding. I put out pans of water last summer to give them easier ways to get a full swallow of water. They drank easily from them, but the clog dancing that was a favorite chicken pastime in the heat made the water filthy. I had to refill them 3+ times a day.
This year, I got this bucket… with the refilling bowl drinkers. So far it seems to be doing exactly what I had hoped. The chickens can get a good sip, not drops. They can drink the bucket half gone in one day but it is extremely easy to refill from a hose. I jet spray the gravity filled bowls clean with the hose at each refill.
I am very happy with this new water bucket. The chickens are, too!

I like the translucent housing that allows for a quick view of water level.
I like the hinged opening in the cover for easy filling.
I do not like that the bowl drinkers continuously drip water and create a mucky mess inside my coop no matter how tight or loose I make the nut and washer. I hung it from a rope and tried leveling it on the floor. I cannot get it to stop leaking. I’d classify it as not user friendly and ultimately not usable as a waterer.
I do like the housing and cover and would consider using it with the pecking nipples instead of the bowls.

It’s taking my girls a little time to get onboard with the nipple system, but I think once they do, the result will be cleaner water and less fill time. Seems like a very sturdy waterer.

I also have the heated water buckets with nipples. They work great at -32°F. But last summer I lost a hen because it got to be over 125°F in the run. This year, I have rebuilt a beautiful, large, covered, open wire run. In the heat the chickens simply could not get enough water from the nipple water buckets. I gave them open bowls, but they were fouled within minutes.
This bucket, once installed in the new run, has 6 chickens drinking at once (two per bowl) and they are happy. So am I!
Thank you, Premier 1. I can tell when it needs more water, I can refill it with the hose and the chickens can guzzle to their hearts content. They are chirring happily and I am smiling. Good product!

Leaked at first but I didn’t have the nuts tight enough because the instructions said don’t tighten too much. So I re-tightened with water in it and now it’s fine.
I bought this because my goose always hogs the water bucket. But of course now she likes the little cups of water too. LOL! But the little cups fill back up so the chickens always have water.
I didn’t put mine on a cinder block and it seems fine.
Came with 3 spare cups.
I was afraid this would be too heavy but I only fill it halfway. You have to press down on the lid to get it locked and unlocked.
