Length—How to choose?
The shape and length of the handles help determine the hand strength required to squeeze the trimmer. Maximum leverage isn’t always desired; many shepherds prefer comfortable trimmers that fit their hands for all day use.- Longer blades may reduce the # of overall cuts needed; blades longer than 2" can clear most hooves with one cut
- Shorter blades are better for precision work

These hoof trimmers are fabulous! They're so easy to use even on tough Angora goat feet. Feel good even in my tiny hands and with my chronic back problems. 10/10 will rebuy if I ever wear these out. I recommend!

My second pair. They stay sharp for an extended period and preform as stated.

Bought less than a year ago. I have 16 goats, and most were babies last year, with only two adults. I also got several late in the year, so I have not used them much. I just went to use them today for the first time this year, and they are already incredibly dull. They have been kept in the garage and never used for anything else.

Best hoof trimmers for goats. I have arthritis in my hands, but these trimmers are so sharp and easy to use that I can trim quickly and easily from kids to bucks. I have had a pair of these for at least five years, and they still work.

Best hoof trimmers we’ve found for our sheep. They stay sharp and are comfortable to use. We can normally trim 65 head around 10 times before we have to look at sharpening them. We also use Premier’s Double-Edged Hoof Knife to clean debris before we trim. That is a great product as well!
