Always choose eggs suitable for incubation. If possible, choose eggs that have not traveled by mail. Why? Because eggs that are closed inside packaging do not breathe and may have experienced excessive travel stress, vibration, and temperature changes.
Do not incubate eggs dirty with fecal material, as during incubation the temperature and humidity will lead to the establishment of bacterial flora. This can contaminate all the eggs, causing infections to the embryos and resulting in premature death during hatching.
Choose eggs of normal shape. They must not be elongated, spherical, undulated or with any other malformation.
Borotto® incubators are designed for the simple incubation of most poultry eggs. Very large eggs will NOT fit in the turner. Temperature and humidity calibration is performed at the factory and is not user-adjustable. Please read the specifications of the incubator to make sure it will work for your situation.

I ordered hatching eggs from ebay and they are hatching baby chicks as we speak. We have tried other incubators in the past. We had no luck with our own eggs. This is the first time we have had any chicks hatch out of an incubator. This is from eggs in the mail. It is so exciting.

I'm not to the point of hatching chicks yet they are in the incubator at this time. I am impressed with the set up thus far. The egg turner is great and the the outside humidity waterer is a great feature. It is a quiet running machine. The proof will come in a couple of weeks at hatch. Day six candling have good veining.

My hatch is ongoing at the moment. Thrilled with this incubator, held temperature and humidity very well despite low humidity in the house. It meant I didn't spend the 3 days after lockdown on the sofa beside the machine LOL! The hatched chicks are vigorous. I collected a few eggs to test the incubator although the temperature was very cold. I will be ordering a second one for my main heritage turkey breeding season.

The service from Premier 1 has been great. The first Borotto 49 incubator arrived broken but Premier 1 took care of the issue quickly. I believe it was a shipping issue.
I cannot comment on the hatching ability as I just loaded the first batch. Egg trays are the best. With the humidity pump it is truly set it and forget it.

So far I'm happy with the quality of construction and the ease of set up. Eggs in, set temp, fill up water from the outside. The water pump was not in stock when I ordered. I'll try to update my review when I get results from my first hatching attempt.
