Common Questions
- I’m a professional livestock grazier, is the Twist Butler for me?
- Maybe. Folks who routinely move their fences through the woods, or in brushy, brambly areas have told us they prefer using a vertical winder vs. dragging the net behind them. It’s a little slower than the tried-and-true “fold and then roll” method, but the advantage of working in a narrow lane is significant.
It’s also a handy backyard tool for those new to electric net fences, as well as for users with small hands.

We’ve long recommended the “fold and then roll” method when moving nets. It requires no tools, and rolls end up much like they began—with all the posts on outside and the folds of net rolled up inside.
But we also know many folks use only one or two rolls. E.g. backyard poultry keepers who don’t often move their runs and are using taller, more cumbersome nets (42"–48"). For this, the Twist Butler offers a small convenience. It’s a clever way to wind-up the netting while keeping the spikes organized to reduce tangling.
For those moving nets daily or weekly in clean pastures, you’re likely to find the Twist Butler more trouble than it’s worth.

Oh my gosh, what a game changer! I’m short and have a bad back. I put up my two 100 ft netting fences with a couple of these. What a blessing!

I love this product! I have to move net fences by myself and ALWAYS have problems with folding and rolling. I am almost 68 and I do not have "landscaped" lawns to pull the fencing across. The Butler twists fairly easily over my taller grass/weeds. And the rolled fencing is so much easier to pick up, after rolling, to put on my ATV to move to a new place. I am ordering a couple more of these. I can roll the fencing up, mow and reinstall the fencing much easier.

This thing is AWESOME!!! I do not have the flat property like the video shows. I have rocks, boulders, briars and weeds. It’s goat property and even with weeds 3 feet tall it worked beautifully. A Twist Butler, like others have said should be recommended to any new fence order as “YOU NEED THIS!” It made putting up an additional 164’ of goat fence so much easier. It does get caught up on the posts at times but that’s easily fixed.

THESE THINGS SHOULD BE A PART OF EVERY POULTRY NETTING ORDER! Seriously they’re the best invention since sliced bread. Easy to use and assemble. You can get by with one and use it to wind up and pay out netting as you move it. OR… get one for each fence like me. It’ll make storage easier during winter months. If you buy netting do yourself a favor and add one of these to the order. You’ll thank yourself later for the lack of frustration. The only con is a 164' fence doesn’t fit the best.

I love the Twist Butler! I use my fence through woods so the goats can eat the underbrush. It was always very difficult to set up the fence and take it down since I couldn't lay it down. The Twist Butler made it so easy. I am really sorry that I did not discover this a year ago!
