PoultryNet® and PoultryNet® Plus 12/48/3 Kits
Use this netting kit to contain and control flighty birds while protecting them from unwanted predators. 48" tall.
You will need a fence energizer (see accessories tab) to electrify the net.
Recommended for active, flighty birds (e.g. Leghorns and Buttercups) and protection from large predators such as coyotes and dogs. For heavy, non-flying breeds, look to 42" PoultryNet kits, which is shorter and easier to handle.
Netting kit includes:
No extra gates needed. Just turn off the energizer and pull the first post to create an opening. For added convenience, a PoultryNet® Gate can be used to provide easy access without the need to turn the energizer off.
PoultryNet “Plus” is identical to standard 48" PoultryNet, but to help with sagging, we’ve added more posts to shorten the distance between them (6'8" vs. 10'). More posts means less sag and a more versatile fence which adapts easily to curves and hills.
Double spike posts are more stable in soft soils.
- Contain and control the movement of chickens, ducks and other poultry on a daily or weekly basis.
- Rotate poultry to fresh grass as a food source and to reduce disease risks.
- Keep small flocks in the backyard. When managed well, chickens are an indispensable garden tool—turning pesky insects and weeds into rich compost.
- Keeps out deer, bear, raccoons, rabbits, foxes, coyotes, stray dogs and skunks.
- Can be used to contain and control livestock other than poultry, such as sheep, goats, cattle and guard dogs.
Netting kit includes:
- 100 or 164 ft roll of 48" PoultryNet or PoultryNet Plus single spike or double spike electric netting.
- 4 48" FiberTuff™ support posts.
PoultryNet 12/48/3 is a 48" electrifiable prefabricated fence. It arrives at your door as a complete roll with the single spike or double spike posts already built into the mesh/fence. Features 12 horizontals strands (11 conductive) with vertical strings placed every 3". “Plus” nets include additional line posts spaced every 6'8" to reduce sag. Add more rolls for a larger enclosure.
FiberTuff™ Posts provide additional support around curves, corners and other major directional changes. Use at end posts to help maintain tension on the fence.
See PDFs and videos above for additional installation instructions.
Electric fence is a pain barrier, not a physical barrier. A common mistake is not electrifying it. Animals may escape or become entangled (and may die). On a % basis, entanglement is very rare, but it can and does occur. If animals are scared or starved it will not keep them in. The first time you put the animals in the net, you should be available to watch them for a while. That way if one were to get into the fence and get caught, you can turn the power off and get them loose.
Netting must be moved when tall grass covers the lower “hot” strands. The alternative? Apply a strip of herbicide to kill vegetation.
Warning! Due to risk of fire, do NOT use continuous output energizers with electric netting or electro-plastic conductors such as rope, twine or tape. Use only with a low or wide impedance intermittent pulse energizer. (Fi-Shock™ brand energizers which are sold as low impedance, continuous current output should NOT be used with electric netting.) All energizers sold on Premier’s website use an intermittent pulse and are suitable for use with electric netting.
Dry conditions and wintertime usage may reduce the effectiveness of electric fencing. Ice and heavy snow can flatten netting and thereby damage it.
Dry or frozen ground may cause post spikes to bend or break if inserted with force. Pilot holes may be needed. We recommend using drivable or single spike posts in hard soils. Double spike posts provide more stability when the ground is soft.
With PoultryNet, the bottom hot wire can slip off of the plastic portion of the end posts onto the metal spikes. This will cause a dead short and no energy will be on the fence. Unhook the energizer and slide the hot wire back onto the post. Reconnect the energizer to the net and test.

Shipping was relatively quick. Product is exactly as described. So far so good, easy set up, might go easier if you had a couple people to help avoid tangling. I use this for my small home chicken flock and rotate them around. The girls learned quickly to avoid the fence. They are quite happy to have fresh green grass. I've only had this for 2 weeks at this point. I hope to get a number of years out of this for the price so time will tell the real story.

This is the best fencing solution I have come across. I have 25 ranging chickens who destroy pastures in no time. I need to move them regularly and struggle with a logical manner to do this with conventional fencing solutions. This easy to move net style fence is perfect for a one man show like myself.
I am amazed how even traversing thru heavy growth the fence maintains so much of its power, I really worried about that and even cleared some grass back along the fence line but I have learned to trust it now without too much prep work.
I was a bit concerned about the height of the fence (48 inches) as my Girls are very mobile. I thought they would try to go thru under or around and they seem to want to ever increase their grazing range. One weekend was enough for them to learn the fence bites back and to give it respect. (I learned that as well!) The small power pack is plenty to get the job done, believe me! It has been 2 weeks now and not one chicken has tried to fly over, nor dig under and when they tried to stick their heads thru the netting, well that only happened once…
I spent a few days watching the Girls adjust to the fence and to see if any predators would see them as easy targets out on the pasture, to my great surprise the Girls adapted quickly and stay where they should and the few curious animals I have seen outside the perimeter (Ground Squirrel) well he only tried once, has not been back!

Extreamly happy with the dual stakes. The fence is tough and the over all system is easy to use. Just bought 4 more segments of this - highly recommend.

The product is great! It came super fast, was easy to install, and the chickens are now running around having a great time. I really like the ease of using this product. It gives more of an incentive to move the fence more often, for the health of the chickens. Dogs and cats have both touched and learned to stay away! The double spikes seem to give it the extra support it might need in loose soil. We are very happy!

LOVE the PoultryNet. I did put it up by myself at first but it was very helpful when my husband got home to help me get it adjusted and less saggy. Spend the extra ten bucks and get the double spike - I don't care where you live - you're gonna want it. I'm gonna buy some extra posts too for more support but also for other non-electric fencing - the posts are great! My biggest worry was if the electric would seriously injure my cats - well, first evening my 8mos. old kitten got zapped; he took off like a shot but is just fine. The cats stay about a foot away - they seem to sense the electricity. Yeah - buy this fence - I'm VERY pleased with it. Easy breezy ~ does the job!
