IntelliRope® PE 6.0
Product Details
Excellent low-tension conductor for both permanent and semi-permanent fences. Virgin polyethylene monofilaments are interwoven with 3 tinned copper and 3 stainless steel conductive filaments.
6mm (1/4") diameter is heavier and stronger than IntelliRope® PE 4.5, but also more expensive.
IntelliRope® BLUE PE 6.0 similar to our standard IntelliRope®, with blue filaments to enhance visibility to animals (who can see shades of blue).

Benefits
Well suited for humid climates because mildew does not thrive on polyethylene (PE). But PE filaments are “slick”—it’s difficult to tie a knot in PE rope. Use a RopeLink or Rope Connector for connections.
Can be pre-wound onto an EcoReel™ XL.

** Probable lifespan is not a warranty by Premier. Why not? Because we know that longevity is highly dependent upon, but not limited to, quality of installation, insulator(s) used, rope tension, animal/wind/snow/ice/vegetation pressure and UV exposure (altitude and climate).
Installation Tips
Plug-in (AC) energizers are best if the fence is close to a 110V power outlet. Solar energizers may be a good option for fences far away from an outlet. A wide-impedance energizer such as the Kube 4000 is well-suited for most “4-season” fences—a fence that must work when grass stays brown or snow covers the ground.
Spacing of line posts (not more than 35 ft) must be adjusted to terrain. Always put a post at top of hills and bottom of valleys. Vary the spacing of rope strands according to type and size of animal(s), fence usage (boundary vs. subdivision) and the number of strands.
- Attach a terminal insulator to an end post.
- Tie end of rope to terminal insulator.
- Unroll rope along the fence line.
- Insert line posts.
- Insert rope in the line posts at the right height(s) for your animals. (See recommendations below.)
- Attach insulators (preferably notched PI 21n) to corner and end posts.
- Tie rope to terminal insulator and spring at far end post. By hand, pull it tight enough to eliminate sagging between posts. Tie off by hand, or use a RopeLink. (Note: If the run of the fence is 1000' or more, use a P Spring at both ends of the fence instead of 1 end.)
- Use a wind-up reel system to rewind and store rope.
- Install and connect a fence energizer to a grounding system. Turn on energizer and confirm voltage is at least 3000V at the end of the fence line.
Suggested Strand Height (from ground):
- For Sheep & Goats:
- 3-strand fence—35", 24", 12"
- 5-strand fence—36", 27", 20", 13", 7"
- For Cattle:
- 1-strand fence—34"
- 2-strand fence—34", 22"
- 3-strand fence—40", 27", 15"
- For Horses:
- 2-strand fence—46", 24"
- 5-strand fence—60", 48", 36", 24", 12"
- For Deer Exclusion:
- 2-strand fence—48", 30"
- 5-strand fence—50", 40", 30", 20", 10"
- 3D anti-deer fence—inside: 48", 18"; outside: 34"

Built a 3D deer fence and this was easy to use from the roll when pulling runs of 300 and 500 feet. Easy to route through the insulators used on both fiberglass rod poles and T-posts. Pulling tension was really easy once one end was anchored.

I installed IntelliRope PE 6.0 at 2" and 5" above the ground to stop chipmunks from climbing the hardware mesh around my garden to enter. The rope's strong conductivity and thicker diameter make it well suited for this purpose. The conductor must deliver a reliable shock with minimal pressure, and this rope supports that requirement when chipmunks make light contact while attempting to climb. Since installing the IntelliRope, no chipmunks have entered my garden.
The only drawback is stretch. The rope slowly creeps and needs periodic re-tensioning with temperature changes to prevent it from touching the ground.

IntelliRope® PE 6.0 review:
We purchased IntelliRope BLUE PE 6.0 to improve visibility to our horses and sheep. We used the resources and did EVERYTHING by the book to ensure that this fence lasted. We put this up in 2024 and started having degradation in 2025 where pieces of the fence were actually coming apart. It is 2026 now and you cannot tell there is any blue coloring unless it is on the shaded side of the fence. I would like to try it again except maybe not buy the blue because it does not withstand the sun. Maybe we got a faulty batch?

Great service and help when needed. I wish all companies were as good to deal with as Premier 1. Have done business with them for 25+ years and will continue to do business with them.

I have used IntelliRope for 25 years and have always been extremely pleased with how it works. It is simple to install and maintain.
