Hatching Tips
Always choose eggs suitable for incubation. If possible, choose eggs that have not traveled by mail. Why? Because eggs that are closed inside packaging do not breathe and may have experienced excessive travel stress, vibration, and temperature changes.
Do not incubate eggs dirty with fecal material, as during incubation the temperature and humidity will lead to the establishment of bacterial flora. This can contaminate all the eggs, causing infections to the embryos and resulting in premature death during hatching.
Choose eggs of normal shape. They must not be elongated, spherical, undulated or with any other malformation.
Precautions
The room’s relative humidity should be between 20%–80% when using the SIRIO Humidity Pump, or between 50%–75% without.
Borotto® incubators are designed for the simple incubation of most poultry eggs. Very large eggs will NOT fit in the turner. Temperature and humidity calibration is performed at the factory and is not user-adjustable. Please read the specifications of the incubator to make sure it will work for your situation.
Warranty

This incubator is by far better than any I've had in the past. The temperature stays a steady 99.7°F. I like that I don’t have to take the top off to put water in it, I can do it from the outside. I have 12 Muscovy eggs in it right now. Very happy with it.

The Real 49 Plus incubator by Borotto has been my go-to incubator for larger hatches up to 196 quail eggs. The incubator has been very reliable and is pretty much set it and forget it until it’s time to go into lockdown. And coupled with the Sirio Humidity Pump I don’t have to worry about running low on water. Very happy with the quality of this machine.
I use the Lumia 16 for smaller hatches up to 32 quail eggs which works perfect for special breeding project where I don’t set as many eggs. The cloverleaf design of the egg rails is perfect for those who incubate quail, chicken or goose eggs.
The Lumia series is a perfect option for those who don’t need a lot of capacity but still want a professional grade incubator.

A very well designed product and is VERY precise at maintaining temperature and humidity. Make sure you install the hatching mat the right way, because it will fit both ways but only the right way will keep your chick out of the water!
A really nice incubator overall and setup was easy and the directions were good. The humidity pump so far has kept our humidity right on the number we have it set on and the temp might vary by .1 or .2 degrees so it is excellent so far at maintaining what you set it at. Very happy with our purchase!

I bought this incubator with high expectations. 2 weeks after it arrived I started incubating some quail eggs. It was a very easy process and pretty much hands off. All I really had to do was make sure the jar I was using for the pump had plenty of water. Very simple.
Where the problems started was when the eggs started to hatch. I woke up this morning to the first egg hatched and was very excited. That excitement was gone when I found the poor thing stuck between the hatching floor and the side wall drowned. The floor piece that you put into the incubator when it’s time for hatching is too small. There is a huge gap and I imagine even chickens could get caught and can drown. I wouldn’t recommend this incubator until this issue gets fixed by the company. I’m hoping to be able to return this incubator and will be buying a Brinsea. BUYER BEWARE!!!

One of the best incubators you can buy. I put in 120 quail eggs never had an issue with the temperature, it always stay at the temperature I set it at. Also very easy to clean because the egg turner is one whole piece. Saves money because the egg turners have different egg size options in the same tray.
