These clips work great. Make sure you have the 7mm as described. I also used these to keep escape artist calves in. Definitely a go-to, to have on hand.

I think these things are great for adding an additional electric twine to pigtail step-in posts. I had a 3 month old calf who was developing a sense of independence and walking under the single electric strand I had. This calf has a particularly wooly coat on him that seemed to reduce the effectiveness of the electric fence. A second line 10 or 12 inches below successfully keeps him in the paddock with the others.
Before I purchased mine, I did measure the rod of my step-in posts with a caliper and indeed what I have is 7mm diameter, as noted in the description of the clips. They’re still a tight fit, which I like because they stay put but can still slide to adjust. I find they’re easier to slide in the morning when the rods are covered in dew.

I love them! The are easy to clip on and slide up and down to adjust height.

These clips do not fit the Goldfoot Springsteel posts. They almost all break when trying to attach them. It was incredibly frustrating. This product needs to be improved and the size changed to fit the posts properly and not break when attaching.

We have limited experience with these but seems to be a simple way to add second hot wire along lanes, etc. So far so good.
