SupaReel™ Wind-up Reel
An effective reel for winding, unwinding and storing conductors. The SupaReel is the strongest fence reel in the US.
The only reel rugged enough to carry heavy conductors like steel MaxiShock™ Wire and soft steel wire year in and year out without breaking when they're dropped (as reels often are in field usage).

How to Use
- Insert rope or twine through the slot formed in the reel. Tie off with a knot to prevent it from pulling through. If using a thick (6mm+) or tape conductor, use a piece of packing tape to hold the conductor to the spool.
- Slowly wind the reel by hand.
- After several passes increase winding speed until the desired amount of conductor is on the reel.
- Tuck in the loose end of the conductor.
- Engage brake on side to prevent rotation of the reel.
- Use a T Post Bracket, Wood Post Bracket or a SupaReel 3-Reel Post.
- Slide notch in handle of the SupaReel onto the bracket or post.

Just bought one of these to try it out as a potential replacement for the XL reel. My experience wasn't good so let me share what I did/didn't like so you can know if it will work for you.
First, this reel (like the other hand/geared reels) is hard to wind up as it requires a hand to hold the reel and a hand to turn the crank. This leaves no hand to keep the twine snug and lined up with the reel. In addition, it lacks any line guide like the geared reels have. This means you get cranking the line in and it suddenly jumps to one side or the other and now you have a huge mess of twine to untangle from the reel and handle.
Pros:
- strong reel with thick, reinforced sides
- the handle is a separate piece that can be replaced separately (as long as you don't break the side of the reel)
Cons:
- requires more hand strength (kids can't use them) as there is no strap to hold the weight and no stand to let you put it on the ground to reel it in/out
- more expensive than the ExeReel XL
- doesn't hold much twine—read the description carefully!
- not as easy to stake down—need to buy/install the special hanger/brackets everywhere you want to hang it
I've removed the twine and retired my recently purchased reel to the shed to only be used in case of emergency.

This reel seemed like the best trade off between price and value. It works just as described. The brake is solid. It did take quite awhile to roll up 1600' of 6s twine but hey it’s not a geared reel so that’s to be expected. Only time will tell on longevity.

Had trouble setting the lock and the hook was a struggle to get it attached to the permanent fence. The hook needs to be opened up. More. I assume with usage the lock will be easier to lock and unlock.

Works good, the annoying part is that if you want to use it on a T post you have to get a separate bracket for it, (which they don't mention here). SupaReel T Post Bracket Item #238500 the other bracket DOESN'T work with this!

This is the first time I've used polywire and a reel for a temporary fence and I really like the Supra reel. It's well made and simple to use. WE have to protect our wheel lines from damage by "rubbing cows" these reels allow us to put up and take down the temporary fences very quickly. When combined with the 20B energizer, we have a great system for temprorary fencing.
